911 Records within Peach County

When requesting 911 records within Peach County, records are maintained by the Public Answering Point/911 Agency that is responsible for the geographic area of the incident. It is helpful to know which Law Enforcement Agency responded to the incident location.  In Peach County, we only maintain records for Peach County’s residence and the cities of Byron and Fort Valley.

Types of Records & Retention period

  • Computer-aided Dispatch Summary Report (retained for 5 years)- a list of all 911 calls at a particular address, reporting party, telephone number, or other searchable field. Each call is summarized in one line indicating date, time, location, contact number, and CAD Event (code pertaining to the nature of the problem).
  • Computer-aided Dispatch Report (Individual incident- retained for 5 years)-summary of a 911 incident which includes date, time, location, CAD Event (code pertaining to the nature of the problem), narrative information, public safety (Law, Fire, and/or EMS) response and associated timeline.
  • Audio files (retained for 3 years)-an audio recording of the 911 incident- audio recordings are available of the 911 call and the subsequent dispatch of the public safety personnel (Law, Fire, and/or EMS).

Information needed to request a record

Please provide your contact information, the date, time and location of the incident, and the purpose of your request. If known, the telephone number that was used when 911 was called.

Fees

Fees are assessed in accordance with O.C.G.A. § 50-18-71. This fee includes a charge of $32.86 per hour to cover the administrative costs of assisting you with your request (e.g., staff time searching for, retrieving, copying the requested documents, supervision of the access, etc.) to access county, which represents the hourly rate of the lowest paid full-time employee with the necessary skill and training to respond to your request.   There is no charge for the first fifteen minutes. There is a .25 per page copying fee.

Once your request is received, your response letter will provide an estimation of fees to retrieve the record.

Delivery method for records

Computer-aided Dispatch reports can be disseminated via U.S. mail, email, or picked up in person at the Peach County 9-1-1 Center.   Unless other pre-arranged, we request that audio files are picked up in person.

Authentication

All records are maintained in the normal course of official Peach County 9-1-1 business and are not edited or altered in any way. If information is redacted in accordance with the above referenced exemptions, the requestor will be notified. If an official authentication is needed, please let us know.
